Five Secrets Deep Practice Group with
Heather Clague MD



WHAT: Six 90-minute sessions to help you improve your relationships by honing your skills in effective communication using the Five Secrets of Effective Communication developed by Dr. David. D. Burns. In addition to learning the Five Secrets, we will examine the Benefits of Blame and work with the Relationship Journal so that you can learn to pinpoint your role in any relationship and empower yourself to improve it. Each class will have brief didactics, demonstrations, and breakout groups to give plenty of time for practice and feedback on scenarios that are important to you.
HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS: This group will be limited to 8 participants.
WHEN: Six Wednesdays, May 15th – June 19th, 2024, 4:15-5:45pm Pacific Time
WHERE: Via Zoom
FEE: $80 Per session paid in advance, so $480 for the series. If you cannot afford this fee, you will have an option to pay either $55 per session, or if you cannot afford that, $30 per session, paid in advance.
REQUIRED READING: Feeling Good Together by David Burns
OTHER EXPECTATIONS: Participants are expected to practice at least 1 hour in between each weekly session.

Heather Clague, MD

I’m excited to partner with my patients to heal what needs to be healed and learn the skills to engage in the process of living a vital, meaningful life. My approach incorporates TEAM therapy (developed by Dr. David Burns), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), contemporary psychodynamic therapy and approaches such as mindfulness, visualization, and compassion practice, with attention to lifestyle and judicious use of medications when needed. I am particularly excited about the power of groups to facilitate growth and healing.

Dawn O’Meally LCSW-C, PA

 Dawn O’Meally, LCSW-C, P.A. is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the owner of a private practice in Maryland-The Counseling Center for Change. In 2002,Dawn became inspired and excited by Dr. David Burns’ research and decided to lead a group for her patients based on his workbook 10 Days to Self Esteem. The reduction in anxiety and depression scores was astounding and the transformation she saw in her patients quickly convinced her that she wanted to offer this program to everyone she could! On 4/26/21, Dawn was honored to do a podcast with Dr. Burns and tell him all about her 20 years of experience facilitating group after group using his Self Esteem workbook and leader’s guide.
https://feelinggood.com /About 150 Self Esteem Groups later, and still going strong, Dawn still gets excited for newcomers because she knows with 100% confidence how her intensive small group program will be life changing for the participants that are willing to dive in and do the homework. With her expert guidance, participants build a solid beginner’s toolkit of CBT techniques and practice them with step-by-step support. Dawn’s genuine, warm, and engaging presentation style fosters a transformative experience for her participants via ZOOM for people all over the country and around the world.

Leigh Harrington, MD

Meet Dr. Leigh Harrington: A renowned psychiatrist with extensive TEAM CBT Therapy Training and Teaching experience, Dr. Leigh Harrington. A multi-talented physician, psychiatrist, teacher, and coach, she offers her expertise to help you achieve your goals .
As a former Chief Resident at Stanford, former Medical Director for Yolo County, a voluntary faculty member at UC Davis, teacher/trainer, resource, and mother, Dr. Harrington brings a wealth of deep experience to the work.

My practice mindset centers on sustainability: I want to facilitate you learning and embodying the tools to feel and stay well and be freed up to live your life the way you want and have the kinds of relationships and achieve the things in the world that you want.  I work with individuals, couples, groups and also teach and consult with individuals and organizations.  My approach is usually structured by TEAM therapy which helps me and you get great results and have accountability for those results oriented towards your goals.
